To enable inclusive computer literacy, NIELIT launched the “Basic Computer Course (BCC), a program that imparts fundamental computer knowledge with an increased emphasis on hands-on training. The course was developed initially to introduce computer fundamentals to ITI/ITC students undergoing vocational courses, in order to promote appreciation and practical skills in computers.

Understand data, information and file management
Create documents using Word processor, Spreadsheet & Presentation Software
Understand computer networks, Internet
Use computer to improve existing skills and learn new skills.

The BCC ensures the acquisition of foundational computer knowledge and hands-on training, ensuring confident use in all personal and professional tasks, enhances employability, improves productivity, and boosts digital inclusion among the learners because they can manage basic software applications, navigate the internet, and make use of e-Governance services. It is stepping stones for advance IT learning which are accessible by all age group people and all groups.
